”Shop Talk” is a weekly notebook that gets the word out and encourages support of businesses in the Packet Media area, while at the same time informing consumers of what special deals and events may be going on in their neighborhood.
   SCRAP U, a craft, cook and create company in Hillsborough that allows your creativity to come alive, has a plethora of special workshops this spring and summer in partnership with Suzy at Kreative Kids at 5 Jill Court in Hillsborough. Participants can explore the art of paper crafting, creative art projects and dessert making.
   • Kids Weekday Program: Montgomery Recreation after school program at Stony Brook School on Tuesdays from Apr. 12 to May 17 from 4 to 5:30 p.m.
   • Mom and Me programs: Weekends in partnership with Suzy at Kreative Kids. Sun Day is Fun Day for Mom, with an early Mother’s Day celebration on May 1; create an enchanted fairy garden on June 5; special Father’s Day creation on June 12. All events from 2 to 4 p.m.
   • Adult Night Out: In partnership with Suzy at Kreative Kids. Sweet Summer Sun-Sation is Friday, May 27 from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.; Ooh Those Summer Nights, Friday June 10. Both events from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.
   • Summer Camps: Scrapbooking Camp, June 27-30 (9 a.m. to 4 p.m.); Cute Confections Camp, Aug. 8-12 (9 a.m. to 4 p.m.); Crafts in the Summer Sun, craft, snack and scrap, in partnership with Suzy at Kreative Kids, Aug. 22-26; Beach Bums, craft snack and scrap in partnership with Suzy at Kreative Kids, Aug. 29-Sep. 2. There are half-day options and before-and-after care.
   On April 15, The Farmhouse Store at 43 Hulfish St. in Princeton had some very special visitors. On that day, the Farmhouse Store partnered with HGTV stars Chip and Joanna Gaines, from the popular show “Fixer Upper,” to bring Magnolia Home to Princeton. Magnolia Home is Chip and Joanna’s line of furniture, rugs, pillows, accessories, home décor and more.
   Noted for its unique selection of home décor, handcrafted artisan gifts, pottery, glass, wood, textiles, metal and jewelry, The Farmhouse Store is now carrying the Gaines’ collection, which includes both furnishings for every room and decorative accessories. The line is broken down into Primitive, Industrial, Farmhouse, Boho, French Inspired, and Traditional genres to satisfy every buyers’ styles.
   ”We are honored that Chip and Joanna recognize The Farmhouse Store as a natural partner to promote their line of home furnishings” said co-owner Kristin Menapace.
   Honor Yoga Princeton, located at 3495 Route 1 South in the Windsor Green Shopping Center in Princeton, is scheduled to open in mid-May. “Within one week of moving to Princeton Junction, I saw this location next to the Whole Foods and thought there should be a yoga studio there,” said Cathy Madeo, who has been a lead instructor at Honor’s Pennington studio and started her teaching career 11 years ago in Los Angeles.
   Honor Yoga Princeton will be Honor’s largest studio yet, offering a two-room studio space as well as a treatment room, which will allow the studio to offer additional yoga-centered wellness such as therapeutics, thai massage, private yoga, and reiki. The studio will also be equipped to offer aerial and acro yoga as well, making it a truly full-service yoga center.
   ”Honor has given me a path and we have grown side by side,” Ms. Madeo said. “I wouldn’t want to do it any other way. The synergy with Honor is what makes this more than just opening our own studio.
   FLUTTER Boutique at 20 South Main St. in Pennington, invites the world to find the perfect gift for that special mom at it’s Mother’s Day Open House, Saturday, April 30 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Visitors will sip champagne, enjoy tasty treats and celebrate the two “Amazing Moms” that have been selected from this year’s entrants to receive some special pampering.    The Miele Princeton Experience Center, located at 9 Independence Way in Princeton, is staging an exclusive event hosted by Isabelle von Boch of Villeroy & Boch, Sunday, May 14, 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
   Ms. von Boch will share tips for hosting a Springtime Brunch and display how to set up beautiful tablescapes for any special occasion. In addition, Miele’s In-House chef will present brunch with recipes that can be prepared with ease at your own Spring Brunch. All registered guests receive a candy dish in the Artesano Provencal Verdure pattern, signed by Ms. von Boch.
   Premiere Dance Hillsborough, located in the same complex that houses HRC Fitness and Hillsborough Family Martial Arts at 30 Brower Lane in Hillsborough, is offering three different dance programs this summer.
   Summer Dance Boot Camp for ages 7-and-up (turning 7 by June 30) will run June 27-30. It is intended to provide a well-rounded, concentrated education in a broad spectrum of performing arts, and there are fitness-related classes to strengthen overall technique and endurance; as well as classes to delve into the student’s creativity to further their artistic knowledge to become a true artist in today’s performing arts world.
   A Daytime Dance camp during the weeks of July 18-22, 25-29 and Aug. 1-5, 8-12 is for ages 3-5 or 6-8 from 9 a.m. to noon. Choose up to all four weeks. Class size is limited. Summer Evening Intensive Workshops on July 25-28 (contemporary, lyrical, ballet, jazz) and Aug. 8-11 (modern, hip hop, tap). Students must turn 6 by Aug. 11 to be eligible for both weeks. Workshops are intended to provide a concentrated education in specific dance forms.
   On Sunday, May 1, Princeton Photo Workshop’s “Composition-On-Location Princeton University” will bring together photographers at every skill level to explore some of the many byways of the photogenic campus, which is one of the most popular in the world. The event will begin with a discussion of composition and camera settings, and the instructor will be with participants every step of the way to look at work and answer questions.
   Registration for Blooming Hearts Child Development Center Summer Camp on 313 Triangle Road in Hillsborough is now underway until June 10. The camp runs from June 20 to Aug. 26 on weekdays from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and is for children ages 3-13. The program is set up to meet the needs of the family with two, three and five day programs.
   The camp includes in-house visiting field trips from the Lizard Guys, Sparkee the Somerset Patriots mascot and Mad Science of NJ. Field trips will be taken to the Land of Make Believe and Jenkinson’s Aquarium. Weekly themes include Independence Week, Kiddie Olympics Week and Science Madness Week.
